π Publication: Former student worker Wei-Chien Kao's first-author paper, Artificial intelligenceβbased detection of small and intermediate-to-large lymphocytes for cytologic diagnosis of canine lymphoma, is out in Veterinary Pathology β a YOLOv11 model trained on smartphone photomicrographs of canine lymph node aspirates that correctly inferred the diagnosis in all 14 test aspirates.
π©βπ« Upcoming: Dr. Chu teaches the afternoon session on vibe-coding tools at the AI Jumpstart Bootcamp, run by the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science with High Performance Research Computing.

βοΈ Workshop: Dr. Chu and Dr. Mary Nabity delivered a two-day workshop on cytology, urinalysis and renal biomarkers for the Taiwan Academy of Veterinary Internal Medicine, attended by more than 200 veterinarians.
π€ Presentation: PhD student Yumi Chang gave an oral presentation at the ACVIM Forum on extracting clinical data from medical records, in collaboration with VetRec and the Dog Aging Project.
π Textbook: Dr. Chu contributed to an AI literacy textbook for veterinary medicine, to be published by Springer Nature.
π Publication: Computer Vision and Deep Learning in Small Animal Cytology and Slide Review β an invited review in Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice covering computer vision fundamentals, publication guidelines, and how nine veterinary organizations address AI in their position statements.
